September - November
Friday, September 8Welcome Back BBQ/Potluck
Weather permitting, we will gather outside for a fun BBQ with games and activities, then gather in the Church for a family Rosary - in honor of Our Lady's Birthday! The BBQ will fire up about 6 PM... WANTED and NEEDED: Dads who BBQ! In case of rain, we will have a pot luck in the air-conditioned lower church... |
Friday, October 6Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary
During this evening we will learn about how the Rosary has changed history many times! Mary is a powerful intercessor, and the Rosary is a powerful tool to change the lives of family, friends - and us! Activities We will have a pot luck supper, make our own rosaries (simple!) and then pray a Family Rosary in the Church. The event will be about 2 hours (including dinner). |
Friday, November 10Veterans' Day and All Souls' Month
We honor our veterans this evening with a special assembly. In addition, we will be continuing the November tradition of remembering the holy souls of our family members who are with the Lord. Activities We will have a color guard, veterans from all the services represented, and time to remember those we love and miss. The event will be about 45 minutes. We will begin at 7:00 PM in the Church. |
December - February
Sunday, December 10Christmas Pageant
Is there anything more wonderful than children reenacting the Christmas story? Angels, shepherds, sheep - and the Holy Family and Angel Gabriel... What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon in December! Activities For the children who will be in the pageant, we will have two rehearsals on the Saturdays before the show... Then, we will gather at 3 PM in the Church on Sunday. This event will last about an hour. |
Friday, January 5Epiphany Celebration
After 1st Friday Benediction in the Church, we will gather at 7:15 PM for the continuation of our Christmas story. A reprise of our angels and nativity, but adding the 3 Kings. Activities In addition to the dramatization of the 3 Kings part of the Christmas story, we will all take time to sing the carols of Christmas that are traditional - and also tell the wonderful story. This event will last about an hour. |
Friday, February 2Candlemas and St. Blaize
A winter pot-luck supper in the lower Church, and afterward, we will gather in the Church to have the blessing of the throats and a "Candlemas" celebration. Activities Each family will decorate a family candle for their home table. We will learn about Candlemas and St. Blaze traditions before participating in them in Church. The event starts with a pot luck supper at 6:15 in the lower Church, and will be over about 8 PM. |
March - June
Friday, March 9Mac&Cheese and Stations of the Cross
By popular demand, we have changed the menu from fish to Mac&Cheese! We will gather for a pot luck Mac&Cheese (bring your favorite recipe to share). After we will go to the Church for a family praying of the Stations of the Cross, a journey with Jesus to Calvary. Activities We will gather in the lower Church at 6:15 PM, then move to the Church about 7:30 PM. We should finish about 8:15 PM. |
Sunday, May 6May Crowning
We are blessed with such a beautiful shrine to Our Lady! Our 1st Communicants will lead us in procession to honor her and crown her the "Queen of the May". Activities This activity will follow the 12 PM Mass (be sure to have a good breakfast beforehand!). We will organize in the Church after Mass, and then process to the Shrine. Pot-luck refreshments following! |
Sunday, June 3Corpus Christi Procession
Yes, we are finished with classes and Sacraments for the year, but we invite all 1st Communicants to come back and lead the procession of the Blessed Sacrament in the Monstrance around our property. It is a beautiful tradition in the Church! Activities This activity will follow one or all of the Sunday morning Masses... TBD! |
